Princess Diana
Princess Diana died last night;
I heard the news this
morn’.
She lived the life of fairy tale,
tossed by an angered
storm.
One day, remembered watching her
with dress and jewels,
galore.
And thought how wonderful it be,
just once, this too, I
wore.
Today among my meager means,
I felt a
change of mind;
To trade the place of one so rich,
but yet, her heart so
kind.
That God would hold her in His Arms
and give the love she
gave,
without the tossing of the storm;
Without the raging
wave.
Forgive me Princess if just once,
I’ve ever
judged you wrong.
And envied walking in your shoes,
where I did not
belong.
Was not the case of bitterness
that some, from her,
endured;
Stemmed from her pains of Royalty;
Our ears had never
heard.

Beyond all this, she chose to love
the sick, diseased and
weak.
And hold in arms a child,
to press her kiss upon his
cheek.
To bow before a Princess
is to honor one that’s due.
Yet
many times she knelt before
the poor and injured, too.
Oh! That her message would convey
this pure
humility. . . .
To love the way Diana loved,
is done on bended
knee.
