Reincarnation~A Vacant Promise

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.
(Hebrews 9:27)

Someone once told me that the Bible proves there is reincarnation. He said that John the Baptist is Elijah (Elias) reincarnated and referred me to the book of Matthew. . .

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if you will receive it, this is Elias, which was to come. (Matthew 11:13-14)

The Prophet Elijah was not resurrected into John the Baptist. John simply took on Elijah’s prophetic role, as prophesied in Malachi 4:5, because after the prophet Malachi died, there were no prophets for 400 years. John’s purpose was to take up where Malachi left off and pave the way for the Messiah. The only purpose in believing reincarnation is thinking that you can bypass God’s eternal judgment. If there is no judgment, there is no Heaven or Hell. If no Heaven or Hell, there is no God. If there is no God, then all power is within us and we ultimately control our destiny. If we control our own destiny, then Jesus’ death on the cross never happened and He was not who He said He was. If Jesus was not the true Messiah and there is no forgiveness of sins through Him, then the whole Bible is a lie. And yet, Satan has many people actually believing this. He’s pulling the same stunt now as he did with Adam and Eve.

And the serpent said unto the woman, You shall not surely die. (Genesis 3:4)

‘Lies’ always defeat their own purpose. There is nothing more wonderful or easier than accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior! He came to set us free from eternal judgment and from all lies and to give us the Truth.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, “If you continue in My Word, then are you My disciples indeed; And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:31-32)
