And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness
with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

A Reflection of Him

When I am gone, what will you say about me?

I would hope your words would be loving and kind. Words that would say I made you laugh or called just to encourage you when you least expected it. If these were your words, it would be because of the way Jesus changed my life.

I've been on a journey that only I could travel with burdens that were mine alone to bear. Then one day along the way, I met you. You, whom I have grown to love and care for. Sharing your heartaches and failures and reminding you how strong you were because of them. Sometimes I would tell you something stupid I did so you would know that in your own weakness or wrong choices, you were not alone. So don’t forget to tell others about me with words that are loving and caring and kind, because you see, you never knew about the times you had angered me and I didn’t show it. Or the times I would have called and said something that would have cut you to the heart, but Jesus helped me see things from your point of view and asked me to love you anyway. Or even the times I forgot to pray for you during your darkest hours and Jesus reminded me. Nor have I told you about those times I was in a bad mood and didn’t find your e-mail jokes funny and would have had no problem pulling you down to be as miserable as I was, but Jesus replaced my attitude with a spirit of joy for my sake and yours.

So tell them about me. Tell them how loving and funny and caring I was and how kind and compassionate I was and all the times I encouraged you.
Because all those wonderful things you might say about me is simply a reflection of my Lord.
