Our High Priest and Defender

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses,
but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
(Hebrews 4:15)

The Bible is full of scripture pertaining to how much God loves us and how committed He is to being on our side, ready to stand with us and for us in our defense. If God gave His own Son up for our sake, then how much more, after seeing His Son sacrificed, does God have to do to prove His commitment to us? And Jesus is always there interceding on our behalf, praying for us before the Father.

Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also
makes intercession for us. (Romans 8:34)

It is so easy for us to condemn ourselves, carry on guilt-trips over sins we have committed or mistakes we have made, but that says very little for trusting and believing in the power of His blood to have the ability to cleanse us and redeem us. Jesus is on our side. The Holy Spirit is on our side. Our Father is on our side. Jesus shed His blood on the cross for the world and when our faith and belief rests only in Him, we know we have been redeemed. We should simply take God at His Word.

"For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more." (Hebrews 8:12)

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His
Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
(Revelation 12:10)
