Gods Will For Your Life

Not every one that says to me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that does the will of My Father which is in heaven. Therefore, do not be unwise,
but understand what the will of the Lord is.
(Ephesians 5:17 & Matthew 7:21)

Jesus came to accomplish many things, but His main goal was to do His Father's Will. He knew by doing that everything else would fall into its proper place and He would achieve all that He came to do. He spent his whole life listening to His Father in preparation for this ministry. Throughout the New Testament Jesus spoke often of His deep love for His Father and how He yearned to do His Father's Will…..

So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing on my own authority but speak as the Father taught me. (John 8:28)

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which sent me. (John 5:30)

This was the example Jesus gave us and if Jesus had to go through years of training, then how much more should we? When our goal is to do our Father's Will, everything else will fall into place and we'll become all that God created us to be. Have you ever felt lost, disconnected or left behind and wondered, 'What is God's Will for my life?' To find that answer, I believe God would want us to seek His Will on a daily basis instead of being concerned about what will happen in our future. It is a step by step walk that we must build upon each day, but not by inviting more 'tomorrows' into our present-day situation.

Take therefore, no thought for tomorrow; for tomorrow will take thought for the things of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:34)

Following God's Will causes unity in the body. Our heart must be willing to change, to be purged and refined so that God can prepare us for the ministry He has for each of us, otherwise, we will not be able to do His Will. We cannot walk in the Spirit if we fight against the Spirit and our hidden sins (as with all sin) will do just that.

Jesus learned from His Father by listening, so come to God with a submissive heart and tell Him what your concerns are, your hopes and dreams; Your wants and desires, then sit quietly and just listen intently to what He brings to your attention. Don't be surprised if God takes your focus off of your 'wants' and makes you do a U-turn straight toward yourself. He may be directing you to sins that have long been hidden. It will be a day-by-day process of helping you overcome fears and obstacles, teaching you to move mountains, taking authority, learning how to love those who are unlovable, expose hidden sins, train you, build you up to send you out for the purpose He called you for. That is God's Will for your life.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.
(Romans 12:2)

For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is my brother, and sister, and mother."
(Matthew 12:50)
