The Love of A Friend

“It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for Him to leave this world and go to the Father.
Having loved His own who were in the world, He now showed them the full extent of his love." (John 13:1)

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Harry Helmsley made his billions investing in real estate around the world and even owned the Empire State Building at the time of his death in 1997. When Harry and Leona married in 1972 the famous Helmsley Hotels were soon built. Harry and Leona were more than husband and wife. They were best friends and their love for each other was inseparable. When Leona passed away in August of 2007 she was buried beside her beloved husband and inscribed on her resting place are these words to Harry:

“I never knew a day I did not love you.” -Leona

Jesus had a strong bond of friendship with those who were especially close to Him. But He also knew mankind and how unreliable they could be. As He rode the donkey into Jerusalem one week before Passover, He knew this same crowd that was shouting His praise would be the same ones that would soon kill him. I can only guess as He hung on the cross, how He looked out at His friends and family, and those He ministered to and spoke these same words: “I never knew a day I did not love you.”

If you want to know Jesus as your Lord and know you will have a place in Heaven, then call on His name.
Ask Him to forgive you and by faith accept Him and believe that He is Christ, the only One who can save.
He will make Himself known to you.

"And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Acts 2:21
