Though he slay me, yet will I trust in Him: but I will maintain mine own ways
before Him.
(Job 13:15)
There has been so much illness striking
people. Almost
every day it seems
that another trauma has happened to someone I know or someone I’m acquainted
with which has
been heavy on my heart. I asked the Lord yesterday what my message should be and
He said,
“Trust Me.”
The enemy is trying to take out those who will do the most good for the Kingdom
of God. It is not
anything God’s children have done wrong nor is it a punishment from the Lord. It
is a spiritual
battle and the greatest way that the enemy can attack the strongest of God’s
children is by disease
and illnesses. He can’t move them off the path God put them on by attacking
their faith because
they are too mature and too rooted in Christ to be fooled that way. But our God
is a God of mercy and justice and the enemy won’t win in any of his
schemes and yet again, whatever befalls us, God allows.
Job knew that God loved him and that he would come out of his trauma and win
regardless of the
outcome. He didn’t understand why this was happening to him so he waited and
maintained his
position in the Lord knowing God would take care of the rest. It was a long haul
for Job. It was a
time of unbelievable grief from the loss of his children and horrible pain from
the physical attacks
of Satan. There was nothing else Job could do but trust in God’s mercy. And
so he did.
The Lord blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first. (Job 42:12)
It does not, therefore, depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.
(Romans 9:16)
