Beauty For Ashes
(A Testimony by Cheryl Hendrix)
In 2001, my
oldest daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She had surgery but they
didn't get it all. She began having seizures and became paralyzed on her left
side. I was her caregiver and taking her to the doctor while her husband worked.
I was raised to believe that God healed and didn't doubt it. If we were sick and
Daddy prayed, we got well.
As I was
sitting in a doctors office one day I kept reading and re-reading the little "No
Cell Phone" sign. I got angry with myself for letting my eyes wander back to it
so many times, but back home that night it hit me. 'We read the Written Word if
it's before us.' I made a lap quilt for my daughter. I had fabric paint and cut
white squares and hand-painted healing verses on the squares and took it to her,
knowing that as it covered her she'd glance down and read those verses. God is not a man that He should lie.
His Word works. Well, not giving credit to the quilt, after five long years Beth
is completely well today. No cancer, no seizures and no paralysis. If people
would just put the healing verses within them and get them grounded and rooted in
their spirits, they'd get well. We should have our very young children
memorizing them. Just think what the Word might do for them if they grew up
believing that what God says.... He'll do.
I also believe
that God uses doctors. I know doctors get away from that sometimes but God gave
them the knowledge to do what they do and God put everything in this earth that
they use to make the medicines. On two different occasions in my life, the
doctors have said "Only God could have done that."

* My Note:
Although I truly believe what Cheryl Hendrix said and I too, have had
numerous healings, God's Word must be divided evenly. There is a time when God will
call us Home and no amount of faith, prayer and believing will heal us.
I just didn't want someone who lost a loved one thinking that they may
not have believed enough or their faith was probably not strong
enough. No. If you lost a loved one then it is because the Lord
allowed it for whatever reason and everyone's time
eventually comes. Even though Cheryl Hendrix' daughter was healed of
cancer, sadly enough Cheryl herself, passed away from cancer several years
later. It was not because her family's faith was not strong enough. It
was simply because God called her Home. - Cheryl Taul
