Ascending

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed
into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
(2 Corinthians 3:18)

I heard about a dream someone had. All the stars in Heaven turned into stairs and Christians began ascending them. The only words that come to my mind are 'glory to glory,' which is an ever increasing likeness of Jesus Christ and God's ultimate goal in us before His return. The smallest gestures, thoughts, words or actions that are not of God are being changed within us daily to reflect His Son's image. Even those whose behaviors are angry and quick-tempered are being renewed. Most often we don't readily see it because the change is so slow.

I would love nothing more than to behave just like the Holy Spirit: Peaceful, loving, gentle, kind, longsuffering, wise, understanding, humble, joyful, faithful and patient which are the attributes of Christ, but I have a long way to go. Even still, it is my heart's desire. The fruit of the Spirit was placed in us when we received the Holy Spirit and it is just a matter of time for that fruit to come to completion. There is nothing we can do to create this change within us and our loved ones. Only Jesus can.

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you
since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth. (Colossians 1:6)
