Join me on this amazing adventure into
Tombstone, Arizona where I'll cover only a bit of
history with each photo. If you are interested, you can
find excellent documentaries, stories and articles
written on almost anything you would want to know
concerning Tombstone and its people back in the 'old
west days.'
This was our little vacation and even
though its history greatly interested me, this tour will
be more on an entertainment level rather than a lecture
of its events. Of course, when I got home, I read
extensively about Tombstone from sources on the internet
and also from the library. I spent many an hour deep
into the night enthralled with the lives of these famous
people. While in Tombstone, I talked with the town
editor and spent time with those in the courthouse
gathering up some last minute information before I had
to leave. Our time was short and I was not ready to go.
There was still so much I needed to
understand.
Two things I learned about the broad
spectrum of Tombstone's history is that not everything
was right or wrong, or black and white. Sometimes,
something good led to something bad and something bad
worked out for the good of others. Tombstone has a
history so steeped with in-betweens it eliminates 'the
good guy versus the bad guy' mentality.
Tombstone's mystery did not come about
with a few added words of color and glory from a
creative writer, but was, and is an important part of
its past. In this town, it's mystery is fact. Not
imagined.
The second thing I learned was how God's
hand stayed on those who were used for His purpose.
Tombstone created its own little Armageddon. It played
out like the book of Revelation on a much smaller scale.
For those who plan on visiting, walk the
streets at night when the tourists are tucked away in
bed and feel the presence that tries to come ever closer
wondering who you are and why you are there.
The name itself, is sufficient warning to
what has been........and still tries to be.
